Over the Top Fandom: Food of the Hunger Games

What’s the good word, friends? Hopefully you’ve all had an especially hungry weekend (Get it? Hungry, as in the games!).

One of the things I love most about fandoms is how over the top people can get. I remember when Scott Westerfeld’s Leviathan came out there were about a million pics circulating around the internets of people going all out with their Leviathan cosplay. In keeping with that same spirit of fandom shenanigans, and all the Hunger Game mania that has taken over the internets, I thought it would be fun to drop some HG inspired dishes for you all from FictionalFood.net. That’s right folks, these foodies are coming straight from the Hunger Games universe to your computer machines.

  1. Mellark’s Bakery Goat Cheese and Apple Tarts — Oh, Lord! These look so good. Seriously though, who am I kidding? Cheese and apples always go well together.
  2. District 11 Bread — These are totally something I could see coming out of District 11. Plus, it made my heart hurt when Katniss got these in the book.
  3. Peeta’s Burnt Nut and Raisin Bread — I thought this was a pretty sweet thing as it totally goes with the storie lines of the books and the movie. I know they don’t say what kind of bread it was in the movie, but I think we all know this was it.

There are sooo many more delicious foods out there but I’m going to leave it there for tonight. Before I finish though, I want to say a great big old thank you to the folks who started following my bloggity blog–Laura,  Natashatynan, Jenn, and Sue. I really appreciate you taking the time to check out my blog.
